Během Olympijských her došlo v Pekingu k výraznému snížení znečistění ovzduší, k čemuž přispěla i dopravní omezení pro automobily.
1. From 1st October 2008, 30% of the official vehicles in Beijing will be put into mothballs. All the vehicles for the official uses within the administrative division of Beijing will be restricted one day per week (statutory and general holidays excluded) according to the last number on the license plates. The restricted area includes all the roads within the administrative area of Beijing and the restricted period is from 0:00 to 24:00. 2. From 11th October 2008 to 10th April 2009, apart for the cars mentioned in Article 1, the trial implementation is that other vehicles (including the vehicles with the approved entry permits) will be restricted one day per week (statutory and general holidays excluded) according to the last number on the license plates. The restricted area is within the 5th Ring (including the 5th Ring Road), and the restricted period is from 6:00 to 21:00. One-month motor vehicle travel tax and road toll will be reduced for the restricted cars. 3. All the vehicles will be divided into five groups according to the last numbers on the license plates, and restricted in groups at regular intervals. Details will be announced by the traffic administrative division of the public security department to an earlier date. The groups are divided as follows and will be restricted from Monday to Friday respectively: 1 and 6, 2 and 7, 3 and 8, 4 and 9, 5 and 0 (This group includes the vehicles with temporary license plates and the plate numbers ended with an English letter will be seen as ended with 0). 4. The following vehicles will not be restricted: • police vehicles, fire engines, ambulances and breakdown lorries; • buses, long-distance vehicles and coaches, taxis (vehicles for rent excluded), minibuses, vehicles for postal services, sightseeing buses authorized by the transport administrative units of Beijing, and shuttles and school buses authorized by the traffic administrative division of the public security department of Beijing; • vehicles for the uses of the administrative law enforcement and wreckers; • vehicles for sanitation, gardening, road maintenance, funeral and interment uses; • vehicles with license plates starting with “使” (diplomat) and vehicles with approved temporary entry permits. |
